Guangzhou, November 14, 2024 — In a significant milestone for international academic collaboration, Guangzhou Huali College and Lincoln University College (LUC) have officially launched the "Guangzhou Huali College-Lincoln University College Joint Training Base for Master and PhD" (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Training Base") . The inauguration ceremony was held on November 14, 2024, at the 205 Seminar Hall in the Fourth Teaching Building.

The inauguration was graced by the presence of Prof. Amiya Bhaumik, President of LUC, who led a delegation from Malaysia to attend the event. Joining him were key figures from Guangzhou Huali College, including President Prof. Jiesheng Liu, Director of the Science and Research Office Youhong Li , Dean of the School of Media and Art Design Prof. Jianping Dai , Dean of the International School Prof. Shuze Tang, Dean of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College Prof. Yihong He, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies Prof. Rongshou Cai , and Dean of the School of Pharmacy Prof. Peixi Wang, along with over 120 faculty and student representatives. The event was hosted by Ms. Minying Tan, the teacher from the International School.

The ceremony commenced with President Jiesheng Liu announcing the official establishment of the Joint Training Base, which will be affiliated with the International School. This announcement marked the beginning of a new chapter in the international cooperation endeavors of Guangzhou Huali College.

Following the announcement, the presidents of both institutions, along with their representatives, jointly unveiled the plaque to celebrate the establishment of the Joint Training Base.

After the inauguration, President Amiya Bhaumik of LUC presented appointment letters to the first doctoral supervisors selected for the program. These supervisors, who are all holding doctoral degrees with experience in guiding doctoral and master's students at prestigious institutions in China, have been vetted by the Graduate School of LUC and officially appointed by the president Amiya.

President Amiya Bhaumik expressed his delight, stating, "Today is a special day for Lincoln University College as we have gained a sincere partner and a loving home in China." He extended his gratitude to President Zhifeng Zhang of Huali Education Group and President Jiesheng Liu of Guangzhou Huali College for their effort and support for international cooperation between the two institutions. President Amiya also shared the joyous news of LUC's significant rise of 185 places in the 2025 QS Asian University Rankings. He pledged full support for the development of the Joint Training Base and looked forward to welcoming more students from Huali College visiting to LUC's campus.

President Jiesheng Liu congratulated the establishment of the Joint Training Base and thanked President Amiya Bhaumik for his special visit from Malaysia. He acknowledged the efforts and contributions of both parties' leadership and teaching teams, especially the International School team, towards the establishment of the Joint Training Base. President Liu expressed his anticipation that the unique "Joint Training Base" and the International School's total English teaching platform, along with its international environment, would leverage the strengths of both institutions to promote high-quality development in international education and achieve fruitful results in the field of high-level talent cultivation.

After the inauguration ceremony, Presidents Jiesheng Liu and Amiya Bhaumik moved to Meeting Room 212 to discuss the development plan, culture construction, operation mode, and more potential cooperative projects of the Joint Training Base. Both presidents expressed their full support for the Joint Training Base and its unique role in cultivating high-level talents and promoting the development of international education.

The establishment and unveiling of the Joint Training Base have written a new chapter in the international cooperation between Guangzhou Huali College and Lincoln University College. The International School, as the base for the Joint Training Base, feels honored to be a leading role in the Joint Training Base. The school will carry out practical work in accordance with the charter of the Joint Training Base, under the direct leadership of both presidents, and plans to fully engage in cooperation in various fields, including joint training of master's and doctoral students, undergraduate exchange, faculty exchange, academic research cooperation, joint research on "Belt and Road" initiatives, and co-hosting international conferences.
